Accounting 1 is the first of a four semester sequence of courses that study
the accounting cycle for businesses operated on a cash and credit basis. Students
who complete the sequence are prepared for work as an entry-level accounting
clerk or for advanced schooling in accounting. Students completing Accounting
1 & 2 can receive half-credit for Personal Finance and a half-credit elective.

This course is a continuation of Accounting 1. Students who complete two semesters
of Accounting can receive a half-credit for Personal Finance and a half-credit

Introduces and reinforces touch typing, speed and accuracy skill development,
and other computer operations. Students will be exposed to word processing,

Prerequisite: Computer App. 1 with a minimum grade of C

Students will gain introductory and intermediate skills in the use of popular
computer applications including: Microsoft Excel, Access & PowerPoint. Students
must be able to work well on an independent, self-directed basis. Students may
earn Tech Prep LCC Credit and transfer college credit.
Cooperative Work Experience
Length of Class: Semester/Year
Prerequisite: Have completed or be enrolled in a related class.

An opportunity to obtain work experience in a business or industry. Students
will apply skills learned in the classroom to on-the-job situations. Upon successful
completion of the program, one half credit is awarded for 120 hours worked in
an approved training station. (Maximum of 2 credits)
Introduction
to Business

Is a career in business in your future? This course will help students learn
about the world of business and its many career opportnities. Students will
learn how to manage a business through an interactive computer simulation. This
clas will help students develop a foundation for further in-depth studies in
a particular business field.
Multimedia Applications

Prerequisite: Computer App. 1 with a minimum grade of C.

This course introduces students to programs used in the multimedia industry
for creation of multimedia and Internet projects. Software will include Adobe
Premiere, Adobe PhotoShop, and Macromedia Flash.

Methods

Prerequisite: Computer Applications 1 or equivalent course. Enrollment
in, or completion of, Integrated Math 2.

Developing proficiency in a computer programming language is a basic skill needed
by many technology professionals. In this class students will gain an understanding
of object-oriented programming through the use of Microsoft Programming Methods
6 and will apply their knowledge to a variety of projects.
Sports & Entertainment Marketing

Sports & Entertainment Marketing is a cutting edge course designed for students
with an interest in the fastest growing field of business, Sports & Entertainment
Marketing. Instruction areas will include: An orientation to the sports & entertainment
industry, marketing mix and functions of marketing, economic concepts, market
segmentation, decision making, career opportunities, event execution, event
marketing, advertising and promotion, and legal aspects and contracts.

Basics

Prerequisite: Computer Applications 1 or equivalent.

Does learning how to effectively use the internet interest you? Students will
learn the history of the world wide web; explore the impact of the internet
effectively as a research tool; and explore the emerging world of e-commerce.
Additionally, students will create personal web pages using an HTML editor.

Web design and maintenance is an emerging career opportunity within the dynamic field of internet technology. Learn how to apply your creativity to the design and maintenance of web pages. Students will learn how to write HTML code and utilize an HTML editor, Macromedia Dreamweaver.

MS Word. Students may continue this course for up to one full credit. Students
