Turn all work in on time, the day it is due. Late work will only be accepted if you were excused absent on the day it was to be turned in. The only extra credit available is a very few special events that will be posted.
Attendance -It is important to attend and participate in the daily activities of a Foreign Language class. Part of your grade will be reflected in your effort to arrive on time, with supplies and perform required practice speaking with your assigned partner or group everyday. We follow the text and workbook chapters in order. If you are absent continue your work at home. Make up work/ points for excused absences must be made up within a week after you return. No work/points can be made up for unexcused absences.
Tardies- Arrive on time with supplies. Every third tardy=a detention with me or the school. Failure to serve a detention will result in a referral to the Vice Principal.

IN CLASS ORAL PARTICIPATION POINTS
Each quarter will be worth 100 participation points. I record your participation, attendance and homework on my clip board seating chart and total it weekly. Check the clip board regularly. It is important to speak and listen to a foreign language. That is the greater part of the skills we will be working on.
A plus indicates you are present, always using Spanish, getting right to work, homework is complete, you are aware of the page number and exercise we are using and have supplies. This type of participation is worth full points. You will excel if you maintain this type of focus in your studies
A check mark indicates you are doing the exercise using Spanish, but with some English mixed in, a little slow in getting started, may need some clarification as to page, etc., a lack of supplies has slowed you down. homework is partly done. This will reduce your points by 5.
A minus indicates little or no Spanish is being used, not following instructions or no effort, a lack of supplies has stopped you, homework is incomplete. This will reduce your points by 10.
Participation points are posted weekly. Check!! Staying on task and being disciplined in your studies is the best way to excel in this area. There is limited opportunity for make-up points based on individual circumstances.
