GREENHOUSE SYLLABUS

Greenhouse is a class that covers studying, raising, and selling plants. It
is an opportunity to earn alternative science credit that fulfills the science graduation
requirement.

First semester includes studying the life cycle of plants, climate, and
propagation. Second semester includes sowing seeds, transplanting, pruning and selling plants to the community. Field trips to local gardens, plant nurseries, and seed companies are privileges for responsible students who are earning C grades or better.
Grading scale:
100 - 90% A
89 - 80% B
79 - 70% C
69 - 60% D
59% or less F
Students are expected to complete written and oral assignments independently and / or in small groups. Students will also earn grades for their small group, team work effort.
Late independent work will be accepted up to two weeks past the due date for partial credit.
Alternative assignments will be provided for missed group work.
Assignments missed due to excused absences can be made up for full credit if turned in promptly. Students have the same number of days absent, to makeup missed work for full credit.
