Course Overview: This course focuses on expanding skills in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Additionally, basic database design skills will be introduced utilizing Microsoft Access and Outlook. College Now credits through LCC are available for this course (6 credits—BT 117, Business Spreadsheets and BT 118, Business Presentations).
Grading:
Assignments 50% A = 90% or higher
Quizzes 30% B = 80 - 89%
Employability 20% C = 70 - 79%
D = 60 - 69%
Employability Assessment: Businesses desire employees who are punctual, have good attendance, and are able to work well independently. To encourage these behaviors every student will begin with an employability score of 100 points. Loss of points will occur as follows:
Deductions: Unexcused absence = 10 points
Unexcused tardy = 5 points (after first two tardies)
Off task or inappropriate behavior = up to 5 points daily
