Course Overview:
This course focuses on learning Visual Basic 6, an object-oriented programming
language. The objectives of the class
are:
- Learn
the basic concepts and methods of object-oriented programming
- Learn
the fundamentals of Microsoft Visual Basic 6
- Become
acquainted with the three-step process of building Windows applications
using Visual Basic 6
- Apply
programming knowledge to build practical Windows based applications
Grading:
Assignments 50% A = 90% or higher
Quizzes 30% B = 80 - 89%
Employability
20% C = 70 - 79%
D
= 60 - 69%
Employability Assessment: Businesses desire employees who are punctual, have good
attendance, and are able to work well independently. To encourage these behaviors every student will begin with an
employability score of 100 points. Loss
of points will occur as follows:
Deductions: Unexcused absence = 10 points
Unexcused
tardy = 5 points (after first two tardies)
Off
task or inappropriate behavior = up to 5 points daily
Your Classroom Responsibilities:
- Practice
good keyboarding techniques at all times
- Please
keep food and beverages outside of the classroom at all times.
- Please
remove your hat prior to entering the room.
- Use the computer for classroom purposes only—no game
playing, downloading, email, etc.
- Sit in
your assigned seat each day and begin work immediately. Leave your work area clean and neat
before leaving the room.
- Please
show respect to your classmates and teacher in your words, behavior, and
appearance.
- Complete
and turn in your own work.
Students found copying or turning in another student’s work as
their own will receive an F for those assignments with no opportunity for
makeup.
