Course Prerequisite: Web Basics or prior approval from instructor.

Course Overview: Students will learn strategies for creating attractive, well planned Web pages and will gain skill in using Dreamweaver 4.0 to create Web sites. College Now credits through LCC are available for this course (3 credits—BT 129, Business Web Pages).

Computer User Fee: Each student enrolled in a computer class is assessed a $3 user fee that covers the cost of paper, toner, and disk. This fee should be paid in the Main Office.

Grading:

Assignments 50%

Tests 30%

Employability 20%

Employability Assessment: Businesses desire employees who are punctual, have good attendance, and are able to work well independently. To encourage these behaviors every student will begin with an employability score of 100 points. Loss of points will occur as follows:

Deductions: Unexcused absence = 10 points

Unexcused tardy = 5 points (after first two tardies)

Off task or inappropriate behavior = up to 5 points daily

Your Classroom Responsibilities:

• Practice good keyboarding technique at all times
• Please keep food and beverages outside of the classroom at all times.
• Please remove your hat prior to entering the room
• Use the computer for classroom purposes only—no downloading of files allowed. Do not mistreat the equipment.
• No music or headphones are allowed.
• Sit in your assigned seat each day and begin work immediately. Leave your work area clean and neat before leaving the room.
• Please show respect to your classmates and teacher in your words, behavior, and appearance.
• Complete and turn in your own work. Students found copying or turning in another student’s work as their own will receive an F for those assignments with no opportunity for makeup.
