Class Rules and Regulations

GRADES
Grades will be calculated on a point basis, then converted to percentages. Ranges for letter grades will be:

  • A 90 - 100%
  • B 80 - 89%
  • C 70 - 79%
  • D 60 - 69%
  • F below 60%
ATTENDANCE/EMPLOYABILITY/ASSESSMENT
--You are expected to be in class on time, ready to work (this includes your materials, such as paper, pencil, project materials, and textbooks) and participate.
--In the REAL WORLD BUssinesses and workplaces desire employees who are punctual, have good attendance, and are able to work independently and responsibly. To ebncourage these behaviors every studdent begins with an employability score of 100 points. Loss of points occur as follows:

Deductions:
  • Unexcused absence = 10 points
  • Unexcused Tardy = 5 points
  • Off task or inappropiate behavior = up to 5 points daily

CLASS PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
--Attire: NO clothing or hats printed with offensive graphics or phrases
--Beverages: Beverages are allowed. NO gum , or snacks-we have new tables and chairs.

LATE WORK/ABSENCES
--60% credit will be given for work turned in PAST the due date,
--Grading deadlines: incomplete or missing work must be turned in the Friday BEFORE the end of each grading or progress report period. NO credit will be given for work turned in AFTER the deadline.
--Students who have excused absences will be given opportunity to make up work (see Student Handbook for school policy on this). This is how your "opportunity" works: If you are absent for two days, you will have two additional days to complete and turn in assignments.
--Students who have unexcused absences will NOT receive credit for missed assignments

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK WITH THE INSTRUCTOR ABOUT MISSING ASSIGNMENTS!!
