Course Description:

In this class we will be working with the assumption that everyone in this class is an artist, but we are artists at different points of development. Artistic talent skill can be learned and depends on practice and motivation. As a community of artists, it is imperative that we work together and create and maintain an environment open to artistic expression and growth. To this end, we will strive to create an environment that is safe from slurs or derogatory remarks about others or their work. All artists exist within a larger aesthetic community that encourages each other. One of these ways that we will be using extensively in our class is that of exhibition and critiquing. We will exhibit our work in a class and in our larger community. We will also be developing our skills as critics of our own woirks and of constructive/positive critiques of others' works. A $10.00 lab fee is required for the class.
