Course Description:

This course will focus on the design elements of three-dimensional form utilizing the ceramics medium. These elements include form, function, color pattern, etc. This course will be based primaily in hand building with the option of developing wheel and sculpture units. Overall student skill development and classroom responsibility will determine the nature of the second semester. No materials can be removed from our facility. Students' grades will be based individually, not in comparison to how many vessels other students create (the minimum number of vessels for the class is six). Grading is on a Pass/No Pass basis. A $10.00 lab fee is required for the class.

Students' grades will be based on the following:
Participation
50%
 Participation is based on daily points earned for being on time, having materials ready, working the entire class period, and behaving appropriately in a classroom enviroment
Projects
 40% Projects are graded on student improvement in skills and techniques .
Assigned Tasks
 10% Assigned tasks are weekly clean up assignments that all students are responsible for on a rotating basis.
